Karen A. Ring is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), group worker, trainer, and transformational consultant in Barbados. She was a lecturer in social work at The University of the West Indies, Barbados (1996–2012), an adjunct professor at Florida State University College of Social Work, Tallahassee, Florida (1991–1996), and a visiting scholar at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada (2011). She has conducted professional training and group work throughout the Caribbean as a volunteer with the Florida Association for Volunteer Action in the Caribbean and the Americas. She has published on disaster research in the Caribbean, conducted a work force study on the social work profession in Barbados, and contributed as a team member on the Global Group Work Project, funded by the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW). Her clinical practice areas include personal empowerment, spiritual development, dream work, retreat facilitation, counselling training, and clinical supervision. She is currently writing a book about dreams and dream groups for personal and spiritual transformation.
